We started because the coast around Umag is full of places worth sitting down in, and almost none of them come with a table.
The Table Is Standing Before You Arrive
Picnic and Waves sets up picnics, celebrations and open-air cinema nights around Umag, in northern Istria. We have been doing it since the 2023 season.
A setup takes an afternoon: the low table and the linen, the cushions and the rugs, flowers chosen for that day, lanterns and festoon lights for the moment the sun drops.
You arrive to something finished. When you are done you simply leave — we come back and take it all away.
How We Work
Four things we hold ourselves to, every setup
One setup at a time
We take a limited number of bookings a day so that nothing is rushed and nothing is half-built when you arrive.
Styled, not stocked
Every setup is put together for the occasion rather than pulled off a shelf. Colours, flowers and textures are chosen for the day.
We leave no trace
We work in beautiful places and we intend to keep them that way. Everything we bring in, we take back out.
You do nothing
No carrying, no setting up, no washing, no returning. The only thing asked of you is that you turn up.
